Mecca:83 – Roam

ROAM is a collaborative project between Mecca:83 and Joel VDK that started in 2011 when Joel created some artwork for Mecca’s Monday Jazz “Calls to Trane.” The artwork resonated so much that they ended up doing ROAM together.
ROAM is a combination of a comic book and a beat tape that provides you that dusty, analog type sound to fulfill the narrative of a comic through an MPC and SP1200 without the fancy special effects. The idea is that you buy a comic book and listen to ROAM at the same time. You, the listener, becomes the director.

One of the freshest collections of music to come together under one album. Cult Classic does not disappoint with their Presents…album. Too many good tracks to name, but I’ve bumping this for a week. A truly enlightening album. Thomas Prime and all the musicians did their thing. Thank you for such great music.
